My Ma

This has been an extremely long week with lots of emotions. On Monday and 3:50pm my Ma passed away. She had been battling Alzheimer's for quite a while. Alzheimer’s is a disease where you lose the person before you actually lose them. Which in a way helps prepare you for the end but really nothing can prepare you. The best part is that Ma lived a life that showed all of us that when she died she would be in Heaven with Jesus. Now she is with Jesus, she’s not confused anymore, she isn’t in pain, she is whole, complete.

I have so many good memories of Ma. First I’ll describe her life and personality. She lived her life in service to the Lord. She loved people and always served them. She was always happy. I don’t ever remember her getting upset with us. She was fun, loving, playful. She LOVED children and loved playing “boo-heady”. She loved the colors purple and yellow (2 of my favorite colors also), loved decorating, playing the piano, fashion and shoes, but most of all she loved her family.

Memories: I remember one time I had a headache at school and I got to go to Ma’s office and hang out with her all day. I even took a nap in the corner on some carpet samples! When I was 8 (or whatever) that was so cool!!

I remember her helping Mom and I with flowers for my wedding. She made a few huge arrangements for the sanctuary. They were beautiful.

I remember riding in her yellow Cadillac.

I remember eating lunch with her and Pa and the rest of the family on Sundays. I remember going to get KFC with her after church to pick up chicken or going to get at “Maxwells” or eating her yummy roast.

There really are so many memories….so many GOOD memories. The service and all the people that came was a testimony of her life.

I love this picture. We were shopping at Wal-Mart and waiting for Mom to pull the car around and Ma hopped on this lawnmower and posed for me! HA
